How do you actually apply to the school? Your first step is to be interviewed by an
Assistant Director of Admissions to help determine the right program for your
career goals. All applicants are evaluated on the basis of their previous education, background, and stated or demonstrated interest in Culinary Arts, Fashion
Marketing, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Web Design & Interactive Media.
After your interview you must:
- Complete an application for admission.
- Complete an enrolment agreement.
- Pay the $150 registration fee.
- Supply proof of high school graduation, hold a General Education Certificate or have earned an Associate’s or higher degree from an accredited institute of postsecondary education. Transcripts must be submitted as documentation.
- Write a 150-word essay on how you think The Art Institute of Charlotte will help you reach your career goals.
Applicants who have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) are encouraged to submit scores to the Admissions Office for evaluation.
Portfolios are welcomed, but not required.
When there are no transfer credits in English and/or math to be considered, The Art Institute of Charlotte assesses the incoming student’s abilities. Students who need additional support to successfully complete college-level English or math courses will be enrolled in appropriate developmental studies offered by the school.
