The Master of Fine Arts program in Film will provide you with the opportunity to design your own unique education geared toward your individual tastes, needs, and ambitions. It will also insure that you have a broad-based education in the field and are qualified to teach or work at various levels. During the first four terms of this program, you will develop an understanding of all aspects of the narrative-based film industry, from writing, to production, to exhibition. You will also be provided with a thorough indoctrination into concepts of film theory and criticism. Upon completion of the first four terms, you will be prepared to teach basic courses at the collegiate level, as well as obtain full-time positions in the film industry. In your final terms prior to graduation, you will have the opportunity to develop your own self-designed thesis to be reviewed by the film thesis committee. Upon approval, you will then work under the guidelines set by the committee to finish your self-designed thesis. |
