It will also provide the occasion to interact with a faculty of practicing artists in an interdisciplinary program allowing for the creation of a significant body of work reflecting your own personal artistic vision, thereby creating the foundation for a professional fine arts career.

Our graduate degree curriculum in Visual Arts is designed to provide a supportive and intellectually challenging atmosphere where you will be encouraged to explore a variety of media including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and installation art. In this program, media may be combined and traditional boundaries may be questioned or redefined.

In addition, you will be guided and critiqued by a committee of faculty members of your own choosing. In this environment, you will learn to articulate ideas, both visually and verbally, and will learn to give thoughtful critiques of the work of others. You will also gain valuable teaching experience in the classroom by assisting with the instruction of foundation classes at the College. In order to promote yourself as an artist, professional growth is emphasized through critical art writing, resume development, and promotional strategies.

Stimulation, idea generation, and creative thinking through immersion in the history of art and in the practice of art making is the purpose of our Master of Fine Arts degree program in Visual Arts.
