Blizzard offers Animation Art & Design Graduate honourable mention
November 20, 2006

The Art Institute of Vancouver would like to congratulate 2006 Animation Art & Design graduate Sam Yang on receiving an honourable mention in the Cinematics Category of the 1st Annual Blizzard Art Contest.

“I'm really grateful of having this achievement posted on such a well-known company Web site,” explains Yang, who believes the most important skills he took away from his education are creating appeal and getting people’s attention, understanding human anatomy and creating quality work on time.

“To be honest, I never thought I would even have a chance competing with everybody world-wide; Because of this, it gave me even more confidence and motivation to continue creating more beautiful artwork.”

Best known for World of Warcraft® and the Warcraft®, StarCraft®, and Diablo® series, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. is a division of Vivendi Games. To date, Blizzard has created nine #1-selling games and Battle.net®, the company's free Internet gaming service, is the largest in the world.

“After graduating in the Animation Art & Design Program at The Art Institute of Vancouver, I now have the knowledge and skills to finally step into this industry that I've always dreamed of.”
