Photography Competition
Capture a story with six photos. It could have a very happy ending.
Express your story through photographs. It could jump-start your photography education!
Use "Storytelling Through the Lens" as your inspiration, and impress the judges! You could earn a photography scholarship to an Art Institutes school.
First Step: Local Competitions
Selected contestants begin their quest to become Best Teen Chef at local cook-off competitions, held at each participating Art Institutes location on April 17, 2010. The first-place winner from each local cook-off competition will receive a $3,000 tuition scholarship to The Art Institutes school they represent in the competition and will advance to The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition finals.
The Big Prize: National Finals in Houston
First-place local winners will be flown, along with one parent or legal guardian, to Houston, TX, to compete in the national finals. Following an introductory reception on May 14, 2010, the competitors will face off on May 15, 2010 to compete for tuition scholarships and the coveted title of Best Teen Chef. Each finalist will prepare a meal under the watchful eyes of professional chefs, and have their creations judged on criteria including taste, presentation, and culinary techniques.
TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED*:
First place: Full-tuition scholarship
Second place: Half-tuition scholarship
Third place: Quarter-tuition scholarship

Eligibility:
The Best Teen Chef Competition is open to high school seniors in the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) graduating in 2010 with a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
Entry Requirements:
To be eligible to enter the Competition, first submit a completed Entry & Release form by February 5, 2010 to a participating Art Institutes school offering a Culinary Arts program. The school you choose is the location you plan to attend, and will be the location you will represent if you progress in the Competition. Next, by February 26, 2010, submit to the same school a recipe in standardized recipe format (sample available at artinstitutes.edu/btc), an optional original photo of the prepared recipe, a copy of your current high school transcript, and a 250- word essay explaining why you would like to study culinary arts at one of The Art Institutes schools.
*All decisions by the Sponsor and judges are final, binding, and nondisputable in all levels of the Competition. All tuition scholarships must be used at the location the student represented in the Competition. Tuition scholarships are non-transferable. Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance to the chosen Art Institutes location and are awarded in the form of a tuition credit.

Will You Be This Year’s Best Teen Chef?
The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition is a chance for competitors from across the United States and Canada to prepare a predetermined menu and have their work judged by a panel of professional chefs.
Winners earn tuition scholarships to The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes*, where students learn from experienced chefs in professional kitchens.

The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition
Recognition is a beautiful thing... and so is an exciting future in the fashion industry. You can find both at The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition 2010. Now open for entries, this competition challenges high school seniors to create the best original design in two categories: fashion design and fashion marketing, merchandising or retail management. The excellent part? Two grand prize winners will have the opportunity to earn a full tuition scholarship to study fashion at an Art Institutes school, as well as tour Seventeen magazine's offices, have lunch with a style pro, indulge in a $500 shopping spree, attend New York City Fashion Week - and blog about the experience on Seventeen.com.

Deadline
All complete entries must be received by Friday, November 20, 2009 at The Art Institutes school at which you plan to enter the Competition and attend following it. A local winner will be selected from each participating school whose design will go on to represent it in the national competition. Local winners will be selected in December 2009; national winners will be announced in January 2010.

Americans for the Arts/Art Institutes Poster Design Competition
The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition 2011
The Art Institutes schools and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition 2011 is your chance to earn a full-tuition scholarship to study graphic design with faculty and students who share your passion for color, composition, and creativity. Even if you’re a qualifying student interested in our other programs, you’re still eligible to compete in this competition.
If you’re a high school senior thinking of pursuing a creative education, let the theme “Life is better with art in it” inspire you to design a poster that showcases your talent. See if your work captures the imagination of the graphic design professionals who’ll judge the submission based on originality, visual impact, and demonstration of basic design concepts.

The Art Institute of Vancouver Structured Work Experience and Training (SWEAT) March 21-24, 2011
The Art Institute of Vancouver annual SWEAT program provides students with valuable work experience in a simulated work environment. Particularly valuable to those high school students who are required to complete work experience as part of graduation requirements, SWEAT allows students access to a broader range of fields, meaning their work experience will be relevant to what they really want to do.
Each year, up to 500 high school students come to SWEAT to get firsthand insight into their chosen field, meet creative individuals who share their passion, and enjoy a fun experience.
We are proud to offer a broad range of programs for students who have an interest in culinary, design, event management, fashion, and media arts..
